Active Ultrasonics offers the industry’s only effective solution for ultrasonically assisted injection molding and casting of plastics, metals, ceramics, glass and food applications. Our patented MMM ultrasonic generators have the unique ability to apply high power ultrasonic energy to large mechanical systems like injection mold tools or casting tools.

In these applications the key benefits to ultrasonic vibrations are:

  • Friction reduction between the tool and the injected material
    • Improved Material Flow
    • Reduced Pressure
    • Faster Injection Speeds
    • Improved surface quality of molded products.
  • Reduce or eliminate air bubbles, voids, and cavities:
    • Improves Production Yield
    • Improves Product Quality
  • In most casting processes ultrasonics are known to improve the material structural characteristics.

In the past the ability to implement such systems in production environments has been restricted due to two key limitations of conventional ultrasonic technology, limited power and high heat. Our MMM technology breaks through these barriers and allows us to greatly expand and create new applications.

Key benefits to the MMM ultrasonic technology are:

  • Can stimulate wideband (sonic to megahertz) acoustic activity throughout the mold tool or casting tool to improve the process.
  • MMM avoids the creation of problematic stationary and standing waves,
  • Provides uniform and homogenous distribution of acoustical activity throughout the tool surface and interior so that the whole system is fully agitated.
  • MMM technology will effectively drive most any size tool or mechanical systems.
  • Wave-guides connecting the transducer to the tool can be extended up to 3 meters for very high heat environments or unusual applications requiring the transducer to be located away from the working tool.
Active Ultrasonics is interested to work with client partners on new applications in this field. Please contact us with your project details.
